Supreme Ocean of Infinite Good Fortune

Venerable Geshe-la’s name mantra Close retreat, including empowerment of Buddha Shakyamuni

Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso’s name means ‘Ocean of Good Fortune’; and for us he is a supreme ocean of good fortune; by sincerely relying upon him we can easily fulfil all our virtuous wishes for happiness both in this life and countless future lives. How wonderful!

An opportunity to draw closer to our Root Guru through the recitation of Venerable Geshe-la’s name mantra; those who wish may collect 100,000 mantra recitations to complete a close retreat of numbers. In each session following the Hundreds of Deities of Joyful Land According to Highest Yoga Tantra we meditate briefly on Lamrim, Lojong and the two stages of Highest Yoga Tantra while slowly reciting the prayer Request to the Lord of All Lineages. Then we engage in the actual practice of Mahamudra.

Throughout this retreat Gen-la Kelsang Khyenrab will share special oral instructions on Guru Yoga, how to rely on the Spiritual Guide, that he received directly from Venerable Geshe-la himself. Everybody welcome!

Empowerment

The retreat fee, meals, and accommodation dates include the Buddha Shakyamuni empowerment weekend before the counting retreat begins. You do not need to book this separately.

Arrival is on the evening of Friday 2nd January, and check out is at lunchtime on Sunday 15th February. Your accommodation covers the empowerment weekend and six weeks of retreat.

Transportation

Tara IKRC can facilitate group taxi transportation to major airports at the end of the winter retreat. Please note that the running of this service and pricing will be dependent upon numbers.

Split payments are available by selecting 25% deposit at checkout. The remaining balance will be charged automatically 90 days from initial payment.
