Desire, Desire, and More Desire

How to Grow Desires leading to Real Pleasure

Tuesday Evening Meditation Class

Time: Tuesdays 7:30-9:00 pm
Venue:
Tara International Kadampa Retreat Centre, Ashe Hall, Ash Lane, Etwall, Derby, DE65 6HT
Teacher: Gen-la Kelsang Khyenrab

We all wish to be happy all the time but very few of us understand how to make this happen. What we do and what we want are opposite; although we wish for happiness we often destroy the causes of our happiness through acting on our mistaken desires. When we learn which desires lead to real happiness and pleasure wecan begin to live a truly happy life.

If you wish to follow the teachings by reading, you can find these instructions in the book Joyful Path of Good Fortune by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso.

27 Oct: Appropriate Desires

Among our countless desires there are a few which, if cultivated correctly, can lead to a life filled with real happiness and enjoyment. Distinguishing these from inappropriate desires is the start of enjoying a happy life.

Meditation: Determination to cultivate appropriate desires

Each class is self-contained, so you are welcome to join at any time. No previous experience is required. Head to our What to Expect page for practical info about visiting us for a class.
