Make Your own Mala | Sunday 29th March | 10am-1pm

      Half-Day Course
with Ling Brandwood

The mala, a rosary used to count recitations of prayers or mantras, is a very precious ritual object. It contains one hundred and eight beads.

In this workshop, you will learn how to make a mala (or repair an old one) with an adjustable sliding knot.

Please make sure you bring some tools with you! All the mala kits are now sold out online. If anyone still needs one, we will have a small number available to purchase on the day.

Essential Tools:
- Beads of choice, typically 6mm or 8mm (about 110 beads)
- Stringing material (suggest satin nylon cord and make sure it fits the bead hole)
- A pair of Tweezers
- A Lighter
- A pair of Scissors

Optional Tools (highly recommended):
- Bead design board or bead mat - so your beads do not roll everywhere
- Guru bead (3-hole) - make your mala more elegant (you may also want 4 contrasting beads as markers at 7th and 21st bead)
