Purifying Negative Karma | Saturday 24th October | 10am-4pm

Day Retreat
with Maria Healey

We dedicate most of our time and energy trying to avoid problems by making changes to the external world. However, the main cause of our unhappiness and difficulties cannot be found in external conditions. It is caused by the negative karma we have created in the past through performing harmful actions.

On this retreat, we will engage in the powerful practice of prostrations to the Thirty-five Confession Buddhas, a special purification practice taught by Buddha to help us purify negative karma and remove obstacles to our spiritual progress. Through sincere reliance upon the Confession Buddhas, heartfelt regret, and the determination to improve, we gradually free our mind from the burden of past mistakes and create the causes for lasting peace and happiness.

Purifying our negative karma is one of the greatest gifts we can give ourselves and others. As our mind becomes lighter, clearer, and more peaceful, we naturally become a source of benefit to those around us. By participating in this retreat, we strengthen our potential to develop wisdom, compassion, and the ability to help all living beings find true freedom from suffering.

Everyone is welcome, whether you are new to the practice or already familiar with it.
